Those words from our original corporate charter still ring true for NAHSA. Our fundamental purpose continues to be that of improving the care and services provided to older Nebraskans.

We do this by advocating the needs and concerns of our member homes before the Nebraska Legislature, the administrative departments of State Government, and federal policy makers. We do it by serving the interests of our members by providing timely information on new laws and regulations, quality continuing education relating directly to their daily operations, a regular forum for the exchange of ideas and information, and discounted costs for food, medical supplies, and insurance coverage through our group purchasing programs. And we do it by coordinating and leading the efforts of our members to provide quality care and services to their residents.

For-profit and not-for-profit facilities are frequently impacted differently by laws and regulations, from tax exemption to reimbursement. Not-for-profits need and deserve representation and advocacy which focuses on their special needs and interests, AND THAT'S WHAT NAHSA DOES.
